The next meeting of the CPBIS Board of Executives (BoE) will be on Tuesday, June 20th in Ottawa, Ontario.  This meeting is being hosted by the Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC).

The CPBIS BoE is composed of senior executives within the industry as well as academic leaders, and provides strategic input and guidance on the Center’s various programs.  The BoE meets three times per year, and its inaugural meeting was held in June 2005 in Nashville, Tennessee.

During June’s meeting, the BoE will be reviewing the Center’s Development Campaign.  The BoE will also review the board composition, and discuss adding other industry representatives from other aspects of the industry, such as customers and other end-users.
The BoE will continue to review and discuss the key business issues facing the industry that would benefit from in-depth, academic research.  At the last BoE meeting in February 2006, the BoE generated a substantial list, and the Center has been working through this list to scope out potential research projects.  This effort will be reviewed, and discussion to identify new topics will be encouraged.  The BoE will also be reviewing the Center’s first draft of the renewal proposal due to the Sloan Foundation for the final grant of Sloan funds.

If you would like to find out more about the BoE meeting, or becoming a CPBIS sponsor, please contact Dr. Colleen Walker, Associate Director – Industry Liaison at 404-894-5756 or Colleen.Walker@CPBIS.gatech.edu
